Macit Emre Laçin
Macit Emre Laçin studied Molecular Biology and Genetics at Bilkent University. He then joined the Psychobiology Lab at Boğaziçi University, where he studied the neurogenic and neurotrophic effects of light exposure in rats. Following his master’s, he went to the United States to complete his PhD in Neuroscience at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. During his graduate studies, he worked on cell-based fluorescent sensors designed to report brain neurotransmitter level changes in vivo. Emre joined BOUNtenna Lab in May 2021 and worked on developing bacterial sensors which will monitor physiological parameters and interact with a biodegradable antenna as part of the AntennAlive Project. He is currently pursuing his second post-doctoral study at the Yildirim Lab of Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute.
