ABOUT US
Boğaziçi University Antennas and Propagation Research Laboratory (BOUNtenna) and Boğaziçi University Bioelectromagnetics Laboratory were founded and are led by Associate Professor Sema Dumanlı Oktar. Her group concentrates on the design of reconfigurable antennas and RF-based sensors for mobile devices of limited size. The focus areas of application include antenna design for implantable and wearable devices, in-body sensing, bio-hybrid implant sensors, and multiscale communication, Body Area Networks (BANs), Internet of Health Things (IoHT), and Internet of Things (IoT). Capabilities in the laboratories include but are not limited to advanced antenna prototyping and measurement devices, a state-of-the-art anechoic chamber in addition to microbiology and genetic engineering equipment, enabling us to conduct vital procedures for isolating, cultivating, and quantifying mammalian cells.
